NEARLY 100 children were treated to a visit
to Santas Grotto after he paraded through the streets of Budleigh Salterton
last Saturday.
Santa set off from the Public Hall at around 2.30pm and
made his way to the Methodist Church where townsfolk could visit him in the grotto.
The
event, organised by the towns chamber of commerce, was also helped by around
30 local Brownies, who sang carols. Pauline Swannell. Chamber spokesman, said:
He saw around 90 children in his grotto in all and it was a busy day for
him. It was a great success.
The chamber is also hosting a late-night
shopping event in the town on December 3.
High Street will be closed to
traffic from the light signals to Fore Street from 6pm to around 9pm. There will
be a diversion along Station Road. |
