HERE>> BIKE mania gripped Exmouth last weekend as scooter
fans from across Britain rode into town.
Hundreds of enthusiasts enjoyed
scorching summer sunshine for the third annual National Scooter Club and British
Scooter Rallies Association meeting.
The rally saw scores of top-notch
machines fill Exmouths streets, with many riders camping out at the towns
seafront rugby ground.
Elsewhere, crowds of visitors flocked to Exmouth
Pavilion where rally organisers staged a series of exhibitions and events.
The
rally has been based in and around the Pavilion since its launch in 2002.
Pavilion
manager Simon Findel-Hawkins said: It really was a wonderful weekend. It
was a huge success.
They always seem to bring fantastic weather with
them and I was really pleased with the whole event.
Its very
good for Exmouth because they bring money into the town and are already booking
for next year.
Exhibitions held outside the Pavilion included displays
of motorbike memorabilia, equipment and scooters through the ages.
The
riders also enjoyed two evening discos during the three-day festival from last
Friday to Sunday.
Police helped out as well during the scooter rally to
manage the extra traffic and ensure the event went smoothly.
