EXMOUTH’S leading musical theatre group, EMCO, are urgently looking for a number of men!
The group are searching for at least three male singers after three people recently pulled out of their forthcoming production of Jesus Christ Superstar. The show which runs for five days at the Exmouth Pavilion opens on Wednesday, November 24, so there is still plenty of time to learn your lines, dance moves and songs. However chairman Val Clarke told the Journal: “We urgently need men to fill the parts, if you can sing please get in touch.”
If you can’t dance, there are incredibly talented members of the group are more than willing to teach you.
Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. It highlights political and interpersonal struggles between Judas Iscariot and Jesus. The show opened on October 12, 1971, in New York with the London production opening on August 9, 1972, with Paul Nicholas (Jesus), Stephen Tate (Judas) and Dana Gillespie (Mary Magdalene). By the time it closed, after some eight years and 3,358 performances, it had become the longest-running musical in West End history.
The album recording of the score of the show, topped the American album charts three times.
A brilliant, thought provoking production and you could be part of it! If you can sing and want to join this friendly group, then give Debbie Butler a ring on (01395) 268444 or 07736738372.
