Members of Axminster Drama Club are now in their final rehearsals for this year’s pantomime.
The club is staging Robinson Crusoe - The Panto, written by Paula Smith.
The story includes many of the traditional features of pantomime, with tales of adventure, a baddie to boo and a dame to cheer.
It revolves around two brothers who are looking to sail across the seas to find their fortune, but being a pantomime, not everything goes according to plan.
This year’s cast features a number of regulars, including Josie Cable, Caroline Markham, Simon Hurst, Mike Dowling, Katie Richards, Jess Leat and Heather White.
Other members of the cast include Andy Blundell, Nicky Sweetland, Kat Hobbs and James Windsor.
The principals are well supported by a strong chorus under the direction of Mike Spellar and Jack Price and between them aim to bring lots of energy to the stage to entertain the audience.
Club members have been working on the production since September, with set builders and painters making the most of their skills to give the show a colourful setting.
A spokesman for the club said: “We would like to thank everyone who has helped to get this production to the stage.
“A lot of people have put in a great deal of work to add all the elements of a pantomime and we would like to invite those keen to see the fruits of our labours to buy their tickets for our show.”
Robinson Crusoe - The Panto will be staged at the Guildhall, Axminster, from Thursday, January 19, to Saturday, January 21, with a matinee on the Saturday.
Tickets are on sale at Archway Bookshop, in Church Street, Axminster, at a cost of £8 for adults and £7 for children.
