Musbury Garden Club welcomes Julia Tremlett, treasurer of the National Gardens Scheme (NGS), who will show slides to highlight some of Devon’s most beautiful gardens open to the public through the scheme.
Founded in 1927, the NGS originally raised money for the nurses of the Queen’s Nursing Institute and in the first year 609 gardens raised more than £8,000.
In 1980, the National Gardens Scheme Charitable Trust was established as an independent charity.
Today, the famous Yellow Book includes thousands of gardens all over the country helping to raise money for good causes.
Go along and see where you might visit this summer.
Nusbury Garden Club will be making a donation to the NGS in lieu of a speaker fee, for the event which will take place at Musbury Village Hall, on Monday, March 18, at 7.30pm.
Entry costs £2.50, with Musbury Garden Club members being charged £1.50.
