The carnival is coming this weekend!

The Exmouth Carnival commitee has organised a fun day which will be held this Saturday, October 13, in The Strand, between 9am and 5pm.

a full day of fun and entertainment is in store leading up to the illuminated carnival in the evening.

there will be a bouncy castle, face painting, balloon modelling, magicians and around 50 stalls selling handmade crafts and jewellery, toys, cup cakes, clothing, ceramics and lots, lots more.

there will also be a raffle, the proceeds of which will go towards the running of Exmouth Carnival.

During the day Roger Bourgein, Exmouth’s town crier will be walking around The Strand and The Magnolia Centre announcing the various acts performing throughout the day.

acts this year include Exmouth TAGB tae-kwon-do, the Exmouth Town Band, singer Paula Marie, an interactive dance session with GB Salsa and BachataMania, Honiton Twirlstar Majorettes, Pixie Maz, The Shelly Beach Boys, singer Meg Edlin, Jeff Lewis and the Exmouth Folk Club and Concept Martial Arts.

The crowning of this year’s royalty will be undertaken county councillor Stuart Hughes and will take place at 2.45pm.

Justine Payton of the carnival organisers told the Exmouth Journal: “We hope the day will be well-supported and that everyone will have fun in readiness for the carnival procession in the evening which starts at 7.30pm from Imperial Road. It will then travel along Marine Way, turning right into Exeter Road and then into the Parade before finishing at Imperial Road.

“The best vantage point will be along Marine Way as it is less crowded.”
